Overview:

BizNet enables you to search, view results, and/or create a detail business profile for firms stored in the ESBD BizTrak Database by :

• Firm Name
• Business Description
• "Standard Industrial Classification" Code (S.I.C.).
• "North American Industry Classification System" Code (N.A.I.C.S.).
• Specialty Code.
• "National Institute of Government Purchasing" (N.I.G.P.) Commodity Codes.

  BizNet is divided into five areas.

  • Main Menu
  • Search Screens
  • Results Screens
  • Detail Business Profile Screens
  • Online Help Screens

• Main Menu:
  The Main Menu is a navigational screen that directs you to Online Help and the 4 different search screens.
  
  • To move to any screen, click on the appropriately labeled button

  • Click on to log off and exit BizNet.
    

• Search Screens
  The Search screens display different categories of database.
  • The firm name search screen provides for a search by firm name only. The S.I.C. search screen provides a search by S.I.C. codes. The N.A.I.C.S. search screen is identical to the S.I.C. search screen with N.A.I.C.S. codes replacing S.I.C. codes. It provides a search by N.A.I.C.S. codes. The Specialty Code search screen is identical to the S.I.C. search screen with Specialty codes replacing S.I.C. codes. It provides a search by Spcialty codes.
  • The N.I.G.P. search screen is identical to the S.I.C. search screen with N.I.G.P. codes replacing S.I.C. codes. It provides a search by N.I.G.P. codes.

    
    After choosing your search options from the selected search screen, click on to display the search results.
    At the bottom of each search screen is a navigation bar used to change screens rather than conduct a search.

    • Click on ,,,, ,and to move to a different search screen. Click on BizNet hyperlink on the top of the screen to return to the Main Menu.
    • Click on to move to the BizNet Help area.

• Results Screens
  Search Results are displayed in an alphabatized list for easy viewing. Each firm or vendor that meets the search criteria is displayed. A sample is shown below.

  To view a detailed business profile of any firm or vendor listed on the results screen, click the underlined firm name.
  
  At the bottom of each results screen is a navigation bar used to change screens rather than view a business profile.

  • Click on ,,,, ,and to move to a different search screen. Click on BizNet hyperlink on the top of the screen to return to the Main Menu.
  • Click on to move to the BizNet Help area.

• Detail Business Profile Screens
  The Business Profile provides a printable report that outlines contact information, demographics, and characteristics of the selected firm or vendor.

  Navigation buttons do not appear on a Business Profile when it is printed. To return to the previous screen to select another profile to view, click your browser's "Back" button. To return to the BizNet Main Menu from the Profile screen, click the underlined Biznet at the top of the report.

  The Online Help screens contain links to each of the other help screens. To reach another screen, click the underlined heading at the top of the screen.
